Tokar was detained by Ukrainian anti-corruption services in a red act. According to the Ukrainian Truth, politics took place erstwhile another man handed him $160,000 to warrant the party's electoral lists and mandate in the ultimate Council of Ukraine.
"It was established that a 41-year-old citizen of Kiev, who is the president of the suspended political party, proposed joining his political project, and after gaining a seat on the electoral list in the parliamentary elections, would become a associate of the ultimate Council of Ukraine," Ukrainian investigators reported. The mentioned suspended organization is the Garant Formation, which by 2024 Walerij Tokar presided over.
Investigators besides informed that during the gathering the 41-year-old was giving distant his business cards, on which he was presented as a candidate for president of Ukraine.

On the basis of 2 charges, if Tokar is convicted, a politician is facing up to 12 years in prison. 41-year-olds were charged with collusion fraud and considerable fraud.
The detention of Tokar coincided with the outbreak of a corruption scandal in Ukraine, in connection with which the National Anti-corruption Office of Ukraine (NABU) was charged with 7 charges against persons from the administrative authorities of the local government, including Tymur Mindich, a close associate of Volodymyr Zelenski.
