WEEK IN THE ‘POLISH GAZETA’ CLUBS – 17.12.2025 | Active meetings and patriotic initiatives in the “Gazeta Polska” Clubs

The last week at the “Polish Newspaper” Clubs brought a wealth of events in many places of the country. Historical meetings, debates on state security, patriotic initiatives and cultural events were held in various local environments.

TESTThe “Polish Newspapers” Club in Bytom organized a unique gathering held in the hall at the parish of the presumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The guest was Mirosław Kańtor, a patriot, singer, interned in the state of war, who as a student of Polish studies at the University of Silesia went to the Zabrze-Zabrzez Isolation Centre. In his moving story, he recalled not only the reality of internment, but besides the late Jack Okonia, a poet and companion from the camp, with whom he collected texts of songs and poems interned in the publication “Over the Grey Camp”. The memories intertwined with the music that Kańtor made, giving a gathering a speech of intimacy and reflection. He emphasized the large function of song and religion as a strength to sustain the spirit among the imprisoned and as a foundation that in the life of all Pole builds opposition to the time of trial.

GLYVICE| Gliwice The “Polish Newspapers” Club attended a solemn Mass for soldiers, their families and civilian soldiers. Liturgy was held in the garrison church and was concelebrated by the Field Bishop of the Polish Academy of Sciences Dr. Wiesław Lechowicz. The presence of club members was an expression of solidarity with the uniform and with those who are in charge of state security. The participants peculiarly experienced the minute of prayer at Golgota Polska Chapel and at the monument of Gliwice Cichociemny, symbols of the dedication of Poles in the service of their homeland.

KELCE CENTRUM | Klub „Gazety Polskiej” Kielce Centrum actively supported farmers protesting the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship Office. The protest was organised by Solidarity of Individual Farmers, and farmers demanded an immediate consequence of the government to the dramatic situation of Polish agriculture.

STARACHOWICA| In Starachowice there was a gathering with writer Adrian Stankowski, co-organised by MP Krzysztof Lipc and the “Polish Gazeta” Club Starachowice. Adrian Stankowski spoke about the work of the media for the quality of public debate, about the request for reliability and about the threats arising from the superficiality of the message. He stressed that the media could build a community, but they could besides destruct it if they were manipulated or pressured politically. In the second part of the meeting, the audience asked questions about both the national political scene and the condition of modern media.

BITSThe “Gazeta Polish” Bytów Club participated in a gathering in Kościerzyn with Euro MP Piotr Müller, organized as part of the “Time of Poland” initiative. Polish Programme". The discussion afraid Poland's place in Europe, improvement prospects and the request to defend national interests in the EU forum. The club members stressed that the conversation was honest, inspiring and allowed us to look at Polish European policy from a broader perspective.

GOSTININGostynin's “Gazeta Polska” Club had the honour of hosting prof. Wojciech Roszkowski, an outstanding historian and author of many publications on the past of Poland. The prof. presented in a synthetic way the causes of the crises of statehood I, II and III of the Polish Republic, showing how mistakes of the past can be repeated in modern times if the work of elites and society is lacking. The joint discussion after the lecture developed into a long reflection on the function of historical and patriotic education in building a sovereign state.

COUNTRYThe “Polish Newspapers” Club Kraków was co-organizer of a rally of support for president Karol Nawrocki organized in Krakow. The presence of club members was an expression of solidarity and support to the head of state, as well as a confirmation of the function played by the GP Clubs in public life.

THIS| Tyski Klub “Gazeta Polskiej” together with manager Jędrzej Lipski and the household and Identity Association organized a screening of the movie “Out with the commune”, stories about the NZS movement in Silesian universities in the 1980s. The gathering brought together witnesses of those years: Mark Żelanny, Adam Jawor and Mariusz Siembiga. They talked about the activities of the NZS, repression, student solidarity and the function of the Church and priests in sustaining the spirit of combat. At the end of the meeting, the president of the “Gazeta Polska” Club of Dzierżoniów Irena Bukalska thanked the parliamentarians for their fruitful meeting, handing a bunch of flowers to your marshal Elżbieta Witek. BUSCO-DRAUGHTER Busko-Zdrój co-organized a gathering with Prime Minister Beata Szydło and MP Anna Krupka. The conversation afraid the most crucial challenges facing our country and the directions in which Poland should follow.
