WEEK IN THE CLUBS "POLISH GAZETA" – 10.09.2025 | 86th YEAR OF THE detonation of planet War II

The “Polish Newspapers” clubs throughout the country, as well as patriotic environments, paid tribute to the victims of planet War II and commemorated events that forever changed the past of Poland and the world. Both the 86th anniversary of the German assault on Poland and the 45th anniversary of the NSZZ “Solidarity”. In many cities there were marches, manifestations, prayers, flower folding and burning. THE COURT OF AUDITORS Piotrkowski Patriotic March for independency took place in Piotrków Trybunalski, commemorating the outbreak of planet War II and highlighting the request to defend Poland's sovereignty in the face of modern threats. The event began at the intersection of Słowacki and Kostromska streets, where participants gathered with white-red flags and patriotic banners. Słowacki Street was marched towards Kościuszko Square, where a celebration of the completion of the march was held at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Flowers were folded and candles lit. The event was attended by representatives of “Gazeta Polska” clubs from Piotrków Trybunalski and Częstochowa, the Border Defence Movement, as well as many residents of Piotrków and the region, for which defending Polish values and historical memory is not only an obligation, but besides a regular mission. Beata Drędź, president of the Piotrków club “Gazeta Polska” besides spoke, which stressed the importance of past and the request to be vigilant about contemporary threats: “History likes to repeat itself. MILANCEKlubowicz “Gazeta Polskiej” from Milanówek together with soldiers of the Kazimierz Wielki Patriotic Formation paid tribute to soldiers of September 1939. They celebrated the 86th anniversary of the outbreak of the war, emphasizing the courage of Polish soldiers and civilians in the face of German aggression.

GLYVICEThe delegation of the Gliwice “Gazeta Polska” Club celebrated at the “War of defence Westerplatte 1939” board in Golgota Polska chapel the memory of the dead during the war. Crimes, looting and genocide by the Germans and a treacherous pact with Russia were mentioned. It was besides recalled how the occupiers deliberately destroyed Polish intelligence to break the spirit of the nation.

Great Gorge The ceremony commemorating the victims of planet War II was held in Słubice and the request for war reparations from Germany was discussed. The ceremony was gathered by many participants, including representatives of “Gazeta Polska” Clubs from Gorzów Wielkopolski, Sulęcin, Krosna Odrzański and the Border Defence Movement. The event had a patriotic and educational dimension. It reminded of the inactive uncompensated harm suffered by Poland during the occupation.

RETURNED| Under the Provincial Office in Wrocław there was a demonstration organized by the Wroclaw club “Gazeta Polska”, supporting requests for reparation from Germany. Among the speakers were the president of “Gazeta Polska” club Sławomir Śmigielski and MPs Jacek Świat and Paweł Hreniak. A note was read asking for compensation due to Poland. The “Polish Gazeta” Clubs from Obornik Śląski and Długołęka participated in the event.

OPEN| Members of the beginning club “Gazeta Polska” paid tribute to the heroes of September 1939 in front of the monument of General Julian Filipowicz. On this peculiar day, a minute of silence and reflection was paid tribute to all the fallen who fought and died in defence of their homeland. Both soldiers and civilians who died from violent assault. Their sacrifice will not be for nothing, and their memory will last forever.

CLUBS| On the day of the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the founding of the NSZZZ “Solidarność” delegation of the “Gazeta Polska” Club from Łuków had the honour to participate in the ceremonies held in the historical OSH of Gdańsk Shipyard, a symbolic place for the Polish road to freedom. The event was attended by Karol Nawrocki, erstwhile president Andrzej Duda and president of NSZZ “Solidarity” Piotr Duda, among others. The celebrations reminded that the values of Solidarity, specified as responsibility, community and concern for another man, remained valid.

CITY| In the celebrations of the 79th anniversary of the execution of the 5th Vilnius Brigade soldiers of the AK Danuta Środkówny “Inki” and Felix Selmanowicz “Zagończyk”, organized by the Gdańsk Branch of the Institute of National Memory, took part in the “Gazeta Polska” Clubs Gdańsk II, Tczew, Piotrków Trybunalski, Starogard Gdański and Wejherowo, as well as patriotic environments from Pomerania. The Garrison Cemetery, where the remains of heroes rest, has not been so white-red in a long time. The celebrations ended at the Gdańsk Oruni, where in the church priests of the Salesians St. John Bosco Fr.Professor Jarosław Wąsowicz, chaplain of the president of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, presided over Mass and gave a homily. Later, they went to the memorial of the paramedic “Inka” to lay flowers and light candles.
