The Prime Minister informed that the Council of Ministers had approved the draft regulation concerning the list of protected entities and their competent control authorities.
We adopted a regulation that I mentioned earlier, under which, the list of protected entities, we are talking about companies that are protected erstwhile individual wants to buy these companies. That list was beautiful big. We have added to this list specified companies as Digital Polsat, P4, TVN, Polsat TV, T-Mobile and WB Electronics – said Donald Tusk and added – I want to stress again that this way we will surely not impede any possible transactions – it will require the approval of the Polish government.
As he stressed, he realizes that not everyone likes this decision. However, according to the Prime Minister, this action is intended to guarantee the safety of key private companies, so that they can never fall into the hands of enemies of the Polish State.
Security?
According to the law, the audit authorities carry out administrative proceedings against the listed entities and investors afraid acquisition of crucial participation or dominance over protected entities. The consequence of these proceedings is administrative decisions – about opposition or deficiency of opposition. Companies operating in the energy, telecommunications and defence markets may be included in the list. By objecting, these authorities may act to defend the independence, civilian rights and safety of Poland, as well as to guarantee compliance with the obligations arising from Poland's membership of NATO.
Tusk didn't perceive to the US.
Two days ago, the U.S. administration issued a position on entering TVN and Polsatu on the list of strategical companies. According to the White House, the usage of tools to defend against abroad enemies to accomplish interior political goals is unacceptable.
In a planet where manipulation and harmful actions of our opponents are increasingly sophisticated, it is essential to guarantee that media stay free from hostile interference – announced on platform X the spokesperson of the State Department, Marek Wałkuski.
However, as you can see, the Polish government did not care about the deficiency of approval from the US.
