TV8: Germany will supply Moldova with EUR 37 million to strengthen the energy sector

During her visit to Moldova, German abroad Minister Annalena Baerbock announced an additional €37 million of financial support for the energy sector of the country. The funds will be allocated under the Energy Sensitivity Fund of Moldova.

"In the next 2 years, both at European and German level, we will further support Moldova's energy independency and its full integration into the European energy market", Baerbock said at a press conference in Chisinau.

According to German Minister Putin's plan to destruct the Moldovan energy sector was unsuccessful. She added that Moldova is able to become completely independent of gas and energy supplies from Russia, drawing only natural materials from the European Union.

In total, since 2022 Germany has already allocated EUR 230 million to strengthen Moldova's energy security.

Prior to the press conference, Baerbock met with Moldovan president Maia Sandu. The topics of the talks were Moldova's integration process with the EU, bilateral economical cooperation, regional safety and further support from Germany to Chisinau.
