Prime Minister Donald Tusk called for unprecedented mobilisation of Europe in the face of expanding global tensions. In his opinion, only a strong, united and able to defend Europe can number on real global significance, both in relations with its opponents and allies.

"No 1 will take a weak and divided Europe seriously: neither enemy nor ally. It's clear now. We must yet believe in our own strength, we must proceed to arm ourselves, we must be united as never before. 1 for all, all for one. Otherwise, we are finished," the Prime Minister wrote on platform X.

Tusk's entry against the background of the global crisis

The appeal of the head of the Polish government appeared 2 days after reports of American military intervention in Venezuela. According to available information, the U.S. attack occurred on the night of 2rd to 3rd January, and the operation was to include bombings and detention of president Nicolás Maduro and his wife. These events have sparked a broad global consequence and have become another signal of increasing global instability.

Position of the European Union

The European Union addressed the situation in Venezuela, calling for the release of all political prisoners. A message signed by 26 associate States stressed that "respecting Venezuelan citizens' will is the only way for the state to rebuild democracy and solve the current crisis."
