Foreign services noted that the Polish parliament "as expected" gave a vote of assurance to the pro-European cabinet of Donald Tusk. The German press agency notes that "the government is now preparing for a permanent wedge with the future Nawrock president".
Commentators callback that the Prime Minister announced a vote following the defeat of Rafał Trzaskowski in the presidential election. The failure of a candidate for the civilian Coalition was a serious blow to the ruling camp.
"With Nawrocki's victory, it became clear that the centre-left government of Tusk would not be able to implement key reforms specified as liberalisation of abortion law or depoliticisation of the judiciary" – measure German media.
Tusk in the Sejm: announcement of changes and border checks
Commentators from “Der Spiegel” and German public tv highlighted Tusk's “war” attitude in the Sejm, his announcement of changes in the composition of the government and the possible introduction of border controls with Germany.
It was besides noted that the "basic problem of Tusk" remains – it is simply a presidential veto that Karol Nawrocki can usage to block liberal legislative initiatives. The ruling coalition presently lacks a qualified majority to reject specified veto.

The majority behind the Tusk government
On June 11, the Sejm gave a vote of assurance to the Donald Tusk government. 453 Members participated in the vote. For it was 243, against – 210. No 1 abstained.
The vote was a political consequence to the election of Karol Nawrocki as President. The Prime Minister announced it before the second circular was decided, as a form of renewal of the mandate to the adverse results of the presidential election.
The announcement of actions at the border with Germany
Before the vote, Tusk answered the questions of Members, referring, among others, to the situation at the border with Germany. The fresh government in Berlin, led by Chancellor Friedrich Merz, tightened border controls, which, according to the Polish government, strikes the people of border regions.
– I informed our neighbours, not only the Germans, that if the force on the border does not change, I will not hesitate to make a decision on the temporary introduction of checks besides on our side – said Tusk in the Sejm. – Partial checks are very likely to be introduced this summer," he added.
The Prime Minister pointed out that he had warned Chancellor Merza about this anticipation during earlier talks.
