During today's speech in the Sejm, Prime Minister Donald Tusk referred to a series of fresh incidents threatening the safety of Poland. Among them he mentioned, among others, the bombing of railway tracks, demolition of traction, propaganda attack from Moscow and brutal beating of the Polish ambassador.
Prime Minister on diversion actions that have been going on for months
– Diversification actions, inspired and organised by Kremlin services for many months, have late crossed the border and present we can talk about state terrorism. The aim of the action was to destruct people's lives and destabilise the foundations of the Polish state," says Donald Tusk.
The Prime Minister mentioned concrete acts of hostile action by Russia that have taken place in fresh days:
“The blowing up of railway tracks, the demolition of traction, the powerful disinformation and propaganda action accompanying this, including the words about the guerrilla in Poland that sounded in Russia, the beating of our ambassador,” he adds.
The Prime Minister's message fits into the increasing tension around sabotage on the Polish railway. In fresh weeks, there have been respective incidents interfering with train traffic, and 1 of them was an explosion. It was confirmed as a diversion attack. There is besides a violent incidental in St. Petersburg, where the Polish ambassador was attacked physically.
Tusk in the Sejm: Moscow wants to weaken us from the inside
Donald Tusk stressed that Moscow's strategy is to weaken Poland not by direct attack, but by breaking interior unity and global isolation.
Russia wants to weaken us at all costs. due to the fact that present Poland is besides strong to attack it directly. Moscow's strategy is clear. According to her, we are to be quarreled with Europe, quarreled with Ukraine and most crucial – quarreled internally. Tusk appealed to politicians, including those from the opposition, calling for reassurance in the face of a common threat:
– I address all Polish and all Pole again and especially everyone in this area and in the Presidential Palace. I'm not talking about those who are on that side for money or anything. They're lost. I say to those who do not realize what they have become entangled in lies who err. Think carefully while there's inactive time. I talk hard but with the best will – Tusk adds.
At the end of his speech he added: "You are either for Poland or against it. On the issue of Nard safety against the Russian threat we will either be united or we will not be at all."
Tusk's speech sounded like an emergency signal in the Sejm. The Prime Minister not only warned against the Russian script of destabilising Poland, but besides pointed out the guilty passiveness and political calculation.
