Tusk's planning a bank heist

No 1 should be amazed that Donald Tusk's current government leads duplicate actions to those that occurred between 2007 and 2015. Unfortunately for him, another jump on OFE is no longer possible, so actions are being prepared to hit Poles through the banking system. The accompanying phraseology is typical – everything is to happen for our sake. Consequently, we will pay more for banking services.

Tusk is setting up a bank heist. During his speech before the government meeting, the Prime Minister referred to his task to rise income taxation (CIT) on banks. – If Poland is to be a country guaranteeing safety and higher wages, then more money is needed convinced the Prime Minister. It is better to taxation banks than Polish families – said the Prime Minister, pushing classical bullshit to convince us that by paying higher taxes, banks will not pass their costs on to customers.

In the remainder of his statement, Tusk stated that his government very much wants to avoid charging Polish families with higher contributions or taxes. According to him, the fresh taxation will not hit the real state of the banks either. – It will be a greater burden, but who will be charged, as opposed to those who have the most money. It is better to taxation banks than Polish families, especially since banks are in very good financial condition – he continued, convincing Poles that the fee would not contact their wallets and that if something works well, it should be taxed immediately.

The government task recorded an increase in the CIT rate paid by banks to 23%, with a rate of 30% in 2026 and 26% in 2027. The changes are to enter into force from 1 January 2026.

OUR COMMENTS: Remembering Tuska's phrases appearing on the occasion of expanding the VAT rate from 22 to 23%, which was expected to be introduced only for 1 year, it can be assumed that the bank CIT will stay 30% longer.
