On Thursday, Rafał Leśkiewicz, appearing on the station program in Poland24, revealed additional details of the meeting:
The gathering is organised at the Prime Minister's request, and the president has responded positively to it. It will be a gathering in private," said the President's spokesman.
The gathering date on Wednesday was besides confirmed by government spokesperson Adam Szpiek.
Leśkiewicz informed that the main subject of the gathering would be the situation in Ukraine and the exchange of views on the course of talks between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. He pointed out that it was the Prime Minister who initiated a conversation with the President, which he considered natural in relations between the head of government and the head of state.
Leśkiewicz, asked about what Karol Nawrocki would like to tell the Prime Minister, replied:
First of all, Mr Donald Tusk has a fewer words to say to president Nawrock and the first 1 he should say is "Congratulations".
Three crucial Meetings
During the Wednesday press conference, Prime Minister Donald Tusk referred to the discussion of European leaders with the president of the United States, attended by Karol Nawrocki, reminding that on Tuesday the government had adopted a position concerning the American-Russian talks that had been handed over to the President. He stressed that, regardless of Nawrocki's individual opinions, they must cooperate in matters of security, abroad policy and war and peace.
The first of the meetings was held in a narrow format of European leaders with the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski, attended by Prime Minister Tusk, discussing the European position before the Friday conversation between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. The second gathering took the form of teleconferencing of European leaders with Presidents Trump and Zelenski, where the position of Europe was presented and Poland was represented by Karol Nawrocki. The 3rd gathering was attended by 30 European leaders, including Tuska.
