Confederate press conference attended by Grzegorz Płaczek and Krzysztof Mulawa, on 7 March 2024.
Krzysztof Mulawa:
– Returning old and “loved” Donald Tusk! What's he known for? He is known for being associated at first as a typical of a organization friendly to entrepreneurs. But he did rise taxes on Poles. And he's back to that again. And so Donald Tusk returns to what he is known for, i.e. from the March of independency and beating Poles. Yesterday they were farmers, hunters, beekeepers and farmers.
Donald Tusk is reasoning of expanding the VAT rate on food, despite the advanced inflacYi. But this advanced inflation was the reason why the lowest zero VAT rate was introduced any time ago.
Poles are pressed with further taxes, fiscal burdens. Which very frequently results from what “loved” governments propose and impose on Poles in Poland. The expanding cost of surviving is besides due to the EU's agricultural policy! And so, for example, very unfavourable for Poles and Poland ETS certification systems, which rise and increase energy costs for Poles.
Next, the Green Deal on which farmers, hunters, beekeepers were protesting yesterday. And they were fizzy.
Further, for example, the EPPD directive, which concerns us all. Those who have any property: whether it is simply a block, whether it is an apartment, or a single-family house. This directive will be charged to all Poles in 2 years.
But we besides have a carbon taxation for CBAM. The alleged CBAM tax, which will impose a burden on products imported into the European Union, i.e. besides to Poland.
Therefore, raising taxes, as in the case of VAT on food, is what we as Members of the Confederation cannot agree with. It is the taxation on food that always represents the largest part of the household budget, so it will affect these poorest Poles. We're behind simple, low taxes. But above all, for taxes to be imposed – if they must already be imposed – wisely. To take care of the poorest Poles. In the case of food taxation we talk about this definitely NO. The 5% taxation rate at this level of inflation is definitely something that the Confederates disagree on.
