In fresh weeks, Polish politics have frequently discussed the anticipation of Poland joining the Peace Council created by Donald Trump. The president of the PiS Jarosław Kaczyński, among others, spoke in the company. The substance is serious, and public discussions are ongoing. The subject of the Peace Council is to be discussed, among others, at the National safety Council gathering convened by president Karol Nawrocki. It is scheduled to start on Wednesday (11 February) at 14:00.
Donald Tusk on the Peace Council
Shortly before the government gathering and the RCN meeting, Donald Tusk announced that Poland would not join the work of the Peace Council. The Prime Minister reported that the head of the Polish diplomatic mission in Washington, D.C. Bogdan Klich received an invitation to an inaugurating gathering of the Council of Peace, which was scheduled for 19 February in the US.
– The invitation is for the Prime Minister or the President. It's an open invitation. This is most likely the minute to say rather clearly and clearly that, in the present circumstances, as regards the principles of the position of this council, direct objectives, mainly related to the reconstruction of Gaza (...), origin that Poland will not join the work of the Council on Peace in these circumstances – announced the Prime Minister [citation for Polsatnews.pl].
Donald Tusk stressed this: "Our relations with the United States have been, are and will be our precedence for apparent reasons, so if the circumstances for joining this Council of Peace change, we do not exclude any scenario.
The chief of government besides stated that if Karol Nawrocki decided to go to the US and attend the Peace Council gathering as a witness, he would "get a full dossier from the government on how to proceed." At the same time, the Prime Minister pointed out that the substance is "delicate and very serious", due to the fact that it concerns the most crucial ally of Poland.

But in no way will we quit our sovereign right to express opinions, to have a different opinion sometimes on different subjects than our most crucial allies – sounded from Donald Tusk's mouth.
Main problems of the Peace Council: money and function of Donald Trump
The Council of Peace is to manage the war-torn Gaza zone. It would besides deal with another conflicts in the future. However, the top emotions in the context of the committee are 2 issues: the financial question and the competence of Donald Trup. It is said that permanent membership of the body is to cost a billion dollars, i.e. about 3.6 billion zlotys. And here comes the bone of disagreement between politicians: in the opinion of PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński, the government "must designate this billion dollars", whereas Finance Minister Andrzej Domanski clearly points out that the budget does not supply specified funds for this purpose.
Before deciding on Poland's participation in the Council of Peace, it is essential to complete procedures, among others, for obtaining the approval of the Council of Ministers in the form of a resolution. Recently, Deputy Prime Minister Radosław Sikorski recalled this, who besides proposed that he could advise president Karol Nawrock on this matter.
The subject of Donald Trump's competence is besides unclear, as Sikorski recalled in the message quoted by Interia. The politician described the construction of the Peace Council as "very unusual", and besides pointed out the ambiguities regarding the position of its president, the current president of the United States, "with absolute prerogatives after he finished his word as president of the United States".
