Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Monday in Orzysz that the East Shield task is "starting in earnest". He emphasized that it is simply a joint defence initiative, including with the Baltic states and Finland, and that he will shortly discuss its co-financing in Brussels. Minister of National defence and Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced that construction of fortification elements will begin this year; fortifications and warehouses will be built on the indicated sections of the east border of the Republic of Poland, which will receive equipment.
