The fact that the relation between the President's Chancellery and the government is very tense, we know not from today. The dispute grew especially late erstwhile the president of Poland vetoed the SAFE programme.
Tusk compares Nawrocki to another presidents. Ah, it came out bitterly...
The Prime Minister appeared on Friday evening (March 20) on the TVN24 show "No Nonsense", where he was asked whether he expected that erstwhile Karol Nawrocki became president, he would be so uphill.
Tusk immediately said yes. He besides pointed out the full run and activities of Nawrocki. "I have no objection due to the fact that president Nawrocki never hid that his main political goal was to change the government and his co-workers spoke about it. president Nawrocki has besides repeatedly said that I am the worst prime minister in past – he recalled, smiling slightly.
– Earlier with many (presidents – ed.) I worked together and as Prime Minister, and before I became Prime Minister, I had the chance to cooperate with everyone outside Wojciech Jaruzelski – he said and added: "This presidency is characterized by a much larger scale of political aggression and confrontation with the government in various dimensions.
Tusk suggests that Nawrocks in all aspect want to do uphill
At the same time he stated that "it's not just about SAFE". There were besides details of a somewhat more intimate confrontation with Nawrock. “I had a long talk in private with president Nawrocki and as long as we talked about Gdansk, about our university, about Lechia, it was good”, he said.
– I have a very long experience, and I know that things get a small better in the country erstwhile there's a space to figure out, where you put aside political emotions for a while, and you figure out according to the constitution that we can do something together. And I have the impression that president Nawrocki felt that he would not abide by this principle," concluded the head of the government.
Tusk on the decision of Nawrocki on SAFE
And is Tusk amazed that even safety issues have become part of the political game by the head of state (talking of course about vetoing SAFE)? – I am more disappointed here than amazed – the Prime Minister replied.
In his opinion, the proposal from the President, meaning the celebrated "Polish SAFE 0 percent", served only to "convince everyone that the European SAFE is bad, and we can have our better".
– I suspect, however, that there was mainly political motivation there and that they wanted to give the president an alibi for the veto, that they promised almost PLN 200 billion, but did not make certain that 200 billion were found. The only paper at my disposal, the authoritative letter of the president of [NBP] Glapiński from a fewer weeks ago, is the information (...) that the cumulative failure of the bank is PLN 100 billion for 3 years, and that the president expects the failure besides in subsequent years," Tusk said.
And the president's translations of why he vetoed SAFE, he said: "I am amazed at the low substantive and intellectual level of this argument, due to the fact that it is deprived of any actual content.
