"Bad will or terrible incompetence of president Nawrocki. possibly both. His veto means more costly current for all Poles - present and in the future. First exams: diplomacy and energy failed. Everyone will pay," wrote Donald Tusk on the network.
Earlier on Thursday, the president reported that he had decided to veto the amendment of the alleged Windmill Actwhich liberalised the principles of investment in this form of energy on land. The Act besides provided for the freezing of household electricity prices by the end of 2025.
- I'm sorry. In a clear way, I decided to veto the Windmill Act due to the fact that It's a kind of blackmail against society.. It's apparent that people don't want their windmill houses close them. I am the voice of Poles and I look at it so that where we can strengthen Poland, we will do so. And where the parliamentary majority does not perceive to the voices of Poles, the president of Poland will stand behind the society - said Nawrocki.

The president has examined 22 laws. There's a first veto
President Karol Nawrocki stated during Thursday's briefing at the Presidential Palace that He's already examined 22 laws. He assured that in the context of the government under consideration he would not follow the emotions that are in parliament. As he added, the "first thing" to which he will appeal in his decisions is "certain emotion", which is his slogan from the election campaign: "First Poland, first Poles".
He recalled that the decision of the president of Poland "in the Polish constitutional and legal system, in the Polish democratic system, is 1 of the entities of the functioning of the statutory order in Poland", whether it is simply a veto or an acceptance of the bill.
The president encouraged "most parliamentary and Polish government", to "form the laws proposed to the president of Poland to consult already at the phase of parliamentary work". As he added, with good cooperation, with the engagement of ministers, this will surely lead to a situation where the veto is less.
Nawrocki besides reminded that the president "does not gotta justify his decisions in relation to the laws", while - as he explained - he and his law firm will "keep this good habit that the president of Poland justifies all decision in relation to the laws".
