Tusk is counting on Nawrocki. The president is expected to "be comfortable" and get backup

Donald Tusk spoke on Monday as if political hell had frozen for a while. The Prime Minister expressed his hope, in his style, that president Karol Nawrocki would support the diplomatic efforts of the government on the Warsaw-Washington line.


– Many weeks ago, president Nawrocki told me that he was ready – due to the fact that he has a large relation with president Trump, so he thinks – to take care of this passage of our global relations, claiming that he surely has a better relation than I do – said the head of the Polish government at the press briefing after the gathering of the European Union-African Union, which took place the capital of Angola, Luanda.

Donald Tusk then openly encouraged Karol Nawrocki to join the diplomatic activity of the government. Of course, there was no deficiency of pinching, but it seems that mostly this appeal is serious:

In Luanda, the Prime Minister briefly summarised the state of play of his commitment to the improvement of a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia. – Chancellor Merz has already informed me about the details of his discussion with president Trump and about his assessment of the economical situation of Russia and of the negotiations that took place in Geneva," Tusk told.

Tusk on peace talks: Do not push where there are possible problems for Poland

– He besides assured me that – they were Germans, but the same was said by Mrs Giorgia Meloni, with whom I had the chance to talk and the head of the Ursula von der Leyen Commission – that Poland should participate in all formats concerning talks about future peace, about the end of the war. I can besides say that I have full support here – said the head of government.

Donald Tusk besides assured that he did not intend to agree to any form of participation in post-war solutions that could put the country in danger. – I will guarantee that I do not push where there are possible problems for Poland. I will not authorize or take on Poland and on our shoulders any guarantees that we do not want to give – he emphasized.
