15 years since the tragedy

Thursday is 15 years since the Smolensk disaster of April 10, 2010, in which 96 people died. The anniversary celebrations began from the very morning at the capital cemetery in Military Powązki, the Monument to the Victims of Smolenska Tragedy 2010. president Andrzej Duda, on the another hand, attended the Holy Mass at Wawel Cathedral and placed a wreath in front of the sarcophagus of the presidential couple Maria and Lech Kaczyński in the crypt on Wawel.

On 10 April 2010, 96 people died in the Tu-154M plane crash close Smolensk, including president Kaczyński with his wife, the highest commander of the Polish Army and the last president of Poland in exile Ryszard Kaczorowski. The Polish delegation headed for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Katyn crime.
