"Polish national interest requires not to discuss, but to give clear, lasting support to Ukraine in its defence against Russian aggression" - said the Prime Minister. "Today's issue is complicated, due to the fact that standing on the side of Ukraine in the interests of our national safety at the same time, we Poles are powerfully in favour of the closest possible alliance between Poland, Europe and the full West and the United States" - he added.
The Prime Minister acknowledged that Washington's current position "is not so conclusive" on the issue of the war in Ukraine. "We must cross this dilemma and Poland, with our reputation, about which our allies and America say that present we have a unique situation (...) our voice will be all the more heard" - said Tusk. He assured that Poland supports Ukraine and strengthens its alliance with the US, "no substance how hard the circumstances are."

According to a message by the British government, the leaders of Poland, France, Germany, Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Finland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Romania and Turkey will take part at the Sunday summit in London. The gathering is besides attended by NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, president of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and president of the European Council Antonio Costa.
