Jadwig Morawiecka died, parent of erstwhile Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. The politician reported her death through social media, publishing her photograph and a personal, emotional entry. The condolences were given to him by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, among others.


Jadwiga Morawiecka died on 3 August. She was 95. She was married to Kornel Morawiecki and parent of 4 children, including the erstwhile Prime Minister of Poland.

"I erstwhile said that everything good in me – I owe to Mom. present I repeat this with even more gratitude and emotion. It is her that I owe my faith, perseverance and pride to our Homeland. It is thanks to parent that I know that love is stronger than death," wrote Mateusz Morawiecki in a post.

"She gave me the first book. From her I learned that Poland begins in hearts. That everyday work for others makes sense. That 1 must stick to the fact – even if it is difficult," he added.

Among another things, Prime Minister Donald Tusk gave the PiS's condolences. "Mr Prime Minister, delight accept my heartfelt sympathy for you and the full government. Loving parent to a loving boy is the top treasure" – we read.



Mother Mateusz Morawiecki avoided publicity. However, it is known that she came from Stanisławów and later moved to Wrocław. In 1959 she married Kornel Morawiecki. Together with him she participated in opposition activities in the Polish People's Republic of Poland. In 1985, she participated in a hunger run initiated by Anna Walentynowicz.
