Christmas defeated Chinese contestant Hanyu Guo 6:3, 6:1, and her rival – Russian Anastasia Pavluczenko 6:3, 6:4. Both ladies will meet in the 3rd circular of the tournament in a match scheduled for Friday.
Iga Christmas had already had the chance to compete with Lys twice – during these games she lost a full of 3 gems. Canadian courts were not besides happy for her – she managed to win the best score in 2023 erstwhile she reached the semifinal.
Raszynika plays in Canada with a “two” after the tournament was given up by Aryna Sabalenko. Now Iga Christmas has a chance to reduce its ranking failure to a leader.
