Turkish intelligence is simply a challenge for Germany's security

A military alliance does not mean the end of intelligence rivalry. German counterintelligence concluded that Turkey – a formal ally of Berlin in NATO – was conducting intelligence and influence activities on the territory of the national Republic. This is not only a problem of Germany's interior security, but besides an example of tensions that even membership in the same defence alliance cannot eliminate.
