Turkey's key agreement to grow NATO to include Sweden

Sweden applied for NATO membership along with Finland, in May 2022 its candidacy was blocked for more than a year by successive demands from Turkey and the passivity of Hungary. On Monday evening, Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan assured that his country would ratify Sweden's accession, which is considered the latest step on the way towards Stockholm joining the Alliance.
