The Turkish prosecution demanded a life prison for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and respective another members of Israeli military and political leadership. The indictment went to the Xth Istanbul Court, covering 35 defendants, including Netanyahu, Israeli defence Minister Israel Israel Katz and another high-ranking Israeli state officials, with sentences ranging from 1102 to 4596 years in prison.
According to the Hürriyet newspaper, members of the Israeli government are charged with crimes against humanity, genocide, imprisonment, cruel treatment, property destruction, robbery and vehicle confiscation. Last November, the prosecutor's office in Istanbul issued a warrant for the arrest of Netanyahu and another Israeli officials on charges of genocide, mass bombing of the Gaza Strip and obstruction of humanitarian aid supplies to the Palestinian enclave.
Earlier Turkey's president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan compared Netanjah to Hitler and predicted the very unhappily destiny of the Israeli Prime Minister. Erdoğan recalled that Hitler had fallen victim to ambition, which he was incapable to control, causing large suffering not only to himself, but besides to his nation and the remainder of the world. Erdoğan besides noted that although Netanjahu started a war with Iran, trying to keep his political influence, the full planet feels the consequences of Israeli aggression.
