The fresh version of Tayfun Block 4 is to be a crucial milestone in Turkey's creation of modern firing systems. In the end, Ankara wants a weapon over 1,000 kilometres in range. The scope of the version presently shown has, according to various estimates, scope from 500 to 800 km, but it has many features that are to be characterized by the mark version of Tayfun. There are besides reports that the Block 4 version may have a scope of 1,000 km. This would mean the ability to strike from the territory of Turkey, e.g. in the mediate East from the territory of Syria, Lebanon and Israel, the full Russian Caucasus and throughout the Balkans, including the south-east part of Poland.
