Confederate press conference attended by Grzegorz Braun and Witold Tumanowicz and Jakub Kalus, on 8 March 2024.
Mr Grzegorz Braun:
– Conference on the task to reduce impunity of bad police officers. They're good and bad cops happen. The Confederacy has frequently pointed to the problem of impunity that these bad people owe to anonymity. And this anonymity was guaranteed by the erstwhile and current ruling team. Because all government leaders, all politicians like to usage cops.
As we have seen in fresh days, here at Wiejska Street in Warsaw, power pushes on the front of the first line of police to deal with opposition. Unfortunately, the police are willing to serve.
We're here in a ellipse of people and veterans of various actions in which this problem has proved apparent. Mr Witold Tumanovich has been co-organising the March of independency for many years. Mr Jakub Kalus, I hope the next word of office, will present a draft bill.
James Kalus:
– A smiling coalition on 13 December unfortunately dates back to sad events a decade ago. Or possibly he's looking for inspiration in the erstwhile system!
Unfortunately, We remember all besides well whether it's a string of police sticks on the back of participants of the independency Marches, or pain from the impact of rubber bullets or water force from water cannons. All these actions affected all the protesters against Donald Tusk in his reign. So it was the patriots, participants of the independency Marches, who besides touched citizens.
Last term, let's remind you, The government of PiS, the Kaczyński government, Morawiecki, besides sent to pro-citizens, anti-pandemic, anti-space manifestations of police officers. This is besides remembered by you, honourable journalists, besides from feminist manifestations, and have besides reported this problem, the brutal behaviour of the police.
Where's this coming from? What's the problem? This problem comes from impunity, from the sense of a protective umbrella, which does not let to identify uniformed police officers who, for example, operate in preventive troops, where they just have helmets on their faces, veiled faces. The Confederacy faces this problem.
Our bill provides for recognition by number in a marked, visible place to identify the officer. So that preventively he does not have a tendency to abuse his powers. In order to usage direct coercion measures as they did today, 2 days ago, in agricultural protests, against people who, for example, were handcuffed or to people who had no force in any way. The usage of these measures is, of course, disproportionate and deserves reprimand, and deserves to be expelled from the police service.
The Confederacy says enough. We already presented this task in last term, precisely after the actions in which citizens against pandemic warnings were pacified. And then, notice, Simon Holown's MPs signed the project! The Confederacy was a wheel at the time, it did not have adequate MPs, but Simon Holowna besides signed. That's why we say “Checking”. That is why we call on Marshal Holownia to include him as a precedence as shortly as we submit this project, and so before the next session of the Sejm! So that already a Polish citizen, a Polish farmer, or anyone who wants to manifest and fight for common interests, so that he does not face specified repression.
