The Russians want any success on the front. erstwhile they did not get a fast offensive on Pokrowsk, they placed an accent on winning Kupańsk in the Kharkiv region. They attack the city from the north, utilizing mostly infiltration tactics, that is, sending behind Ukrainian saboteur lines in civilian clothes. The operation is led by a Ukrainian general, who switched to the Russian side in 2014.
