U.S. president Donald Trump announced that in Washington, D.C., "one of the top golf courses in the world" would rise. The investment costs and sources of backing have not yet been disclosed. The task will be prepared by well-known architect Tom Fazio.
The fresh field is intended to replace the East Potomac Golf Links existing since the 1920s, which Trump considered to be an object in a dire state. The work is to begin on 1 September under the supervision of the Ministry of interior Resources. The field is to meet the standards of organizing the most prestigious tournaments, including U.S. Open.
Although as announced, the fresh golf course is to be available to all residents, the decision to build it met with a reserve of part of the capital's residents – they fear the regulation of access to the area for the local community.
Construction of the golf course is another component of the Washington redevelopment plan of Trump. The Lafayette Park is being upgraded close the White House, where, according to the Washington Post, 47 clones are expected to be planted to symbolize the fact that Trump is the 47th president of the United States.
