Putin sent Trump a image of blood on his face. The painting depicts the U.S. president with his fist raised, after the Pennsylvania assassination. The scene, full of pathos, symbols and political tension, was painted by Russian artist Nikas Safronov. CNN was the first to show the work that the Kremlin called "the motion of improving relations". Trump was "clearly moved".
