Trump Wants Greenland. China Asks Questions About Taiwan

For years, the U.S. government has urged China to show “restraint” in pressing its claims on Taiwan and to abandon military threats to subdue the democratically governed island. Now, any Chinese commentators say, the strength of that long-held American position has been undermined by threats by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump to seize control of Greenland and the Panama Canal, by force if necessary.
