On April 26, leaders of the states, prime ministers, monarchs and cardinals from all over the planet gathered in Vatican City to pay tribute to Pope Francis, who died on Easter Monday.
Among the participants of the ceremony were Polish president Andrzej Duda, Duke William, Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenski, French president Emmanuel Macron, German president Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Swedish King Charles XVI Gustav, European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen, and Argentina's president of the native country of Francis, Javier Milei.

Donald Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, were photographed erstwhile they stopped for a minute of reflection at the Pope's coffin. However, erstwhile they joined the remainder of the planet leaders dressed in classical black outfits, the audience's attention caught the U.S. leader's outfit.
In the sea of black clothing, Trump distinguished himself with his navy suit and navy tie – which immediately sparked a wave of criticism in social media.
In Catholic tradition black is simply a symbol of mourning and respect for the deceased. Many netizens so found Trump's decision inappropriate and classless, especially since his wife decided to wear a black costume and a conventional veil of the same color.
"Is there any reason why Donald Trump wore a navy suit to the Pope's ceremony alternatively of conventional black?" wrote 1 of the X users (formerly Twitter). "I see Trump wore a navy suit to the Pope's ceremony to stand out. What a deficiency of class," another commented.
"I'm watching a ceremony at BBC News. Trump in a blue suit, while everyone else is in black. No respect," added another commentator. "He tries to draw attention to himself – Trump in a navy suit among a crowd dressed black," individual else said.
Internet users besides recalled Trump's earlier criticism of the president of Ukraine, who he fined for his informal dress during a gathering at the White home in February. "Zelenski should ask Trump why he was the only 1 not to wear black erstwhile he had previously paid so much attention to another people's outfits," wrote 1 user on X.
