The attack was confirmed by the US Central Command (CENTCOM), which reported that US forces carried out a fresh circular of strikes on Iran overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday, attacking more than 80 targets utilizing precision munitions. It was emphasized that this was a consequence to Iranian attacks on merchant ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
