Trump and Muska's alliance is falling apart due to budget dispute

Musk responded shortly after via his online platform X: “Without me Trump would lose the election.” He added: “What ingratitude.”

Musk donated over $250 million to Trump's electoral campaign. He besides personally campaigned in the key state of Pennsylvania, among another things. Trump now claimed that he would win in Pennsylvania even without Musk — and thus seemingly provoked a technological attack by a billionaire.

Attacks of the Musk lasting for days

Musk has been harshly critical of Trump's draft taxation and spending bill for respective days calling for further cost cuts. Meanwhile, Trump suggested that Musk is guided by business interests. This tech billionaire is, among another things, the head of the Tesla electrical car manufacturer. Trump said Musk had no problem with the bill – until he found out it included cuts of billions of dollars in subsidies for electrical vehicles.

The president has been holding back lately, despite the expanding attacks of Musk on this bill. For the first time, journalists asked him about this controversy during a gathering with the Chancellor Friedrich Merzem (CDU).

Musk temporarily became Trump's close trustee, who commissioned him to cut government spending. At the end of May, Musk withdrew from Washington. In his departure he referred to a 130-day deadline for external government workers.
