U.S. president Donald Trump threatened Apple on Friday with 25% duties if he did not transfer his iPhone telephone production to the United States. The commentators view this as an exacerbation of the dispute between Trump and Apple's head, Tim Cook.

"A long time ago I informed Tim Cook of Apple that I anticipate their iPhones, which will be sold in the United States of America, to be produced in the United States alternatively than in India or any another country. Otherwise, Apple will be paying US taxes of at least 25 percent" - announced Trump on his actual Social social network.

Apple joined the same dabout Amazon, Walmart and another large American companies that were targeted by the Trump administration's customs policy - assessed the AP agency.

Production in India

Cook previously stated in May that most iPhones sold in the US in the coming months will come from factories in India. The company thus tries to avoid the duties imposed by the Trump administration on products imported from China during the trade war with this country - recalled the diary "Financial Times".

Under the fresh agreement with China, customs duties on products from this country have been temporarily reduced from 145 to 30 percent. About 90% of all iPhones are presently installed in China - according to the data cited by CNN station.

Apple sells in the USA Over 60 million iPhones a year. "FT" previously reported that the company plans to decision the production of all phones intended for the US marketplace to India before the end of next year. Apple's key supplier, Foxconn, invests $1.5 billion in expanding production in India.

Trump criticized these plans during his visit to the mediate East last week. He then stated that he had "a tiny problem with Tim Cook". "I hear you're building all over India. I don't want you building in India."He said.
