Trump ends shutdown, Pentagon with fresh budget

The home of Representatives voted on Tuesday to adopt a package of budget bills (so-called appropriations bills) worth 1.2 trillion dollars. The package, which was voted through by 217:214, provides, m.in, a full-year budget for the Pentagon, which amounts to $838.7 billion (the fiscal year in the US lasts until September 30, until now a provisional budget has been used). The budget bill provides for m.in $400 million for the acquisition of military equipment for Ukraine, as well as $200 million to support the defence of the Baltic states. Nearly $50 million is to go to the U.S. European Command (org. United States European Command – EUCOM).
