— On the contrary, I believe that ally's actions are supporting the United States at a hard time — not only for themselves, but besides to deal with a crisis as complex as the situation in the Ormuz Strait, he added.

The strategical Strait of Ormuz, key to global oil and gas transport, was blocked by Iran in consequence to a US and Israeli military operation aimed at Tehran.

In fresh days Trump has expressed anticipation that the countries most affected by the blockade should send their warships into the region to guarantee the safety of the transport of natural materials from the Persian Gulf. Among possible participants of specified an operation, he listed NATO allies. At the same time, he criticized the Alliance, claiming that it was making a "very serious mistake", refusing to support the United States in securing the strait.

On Friday on the fact Social platform, he wrote:
“Without the United States, NATO is just a paper tiger. They did not want to engage in activities to halt Iran from acquiring atomic weapons. Now that the fight has been settled on the battlefield, with minimal hazard for them, they complain about the advanced oil prices they gotta pay, but do not want to aid unlock the Strait of Ormuz.”

In conclusion, he added:
"It is very easy for them, and the hazard is low. Cowards — we will remember this.”
