Trump urges NATO to increase its defence spending. German reaction will disappoint him

The leader of the German opposition, Friedrich Merz, who was drafted as Chancellor after the accelerated elections scheduled for next month, announced that Germany would increase defence spending but would not commit to achieving NATO's defence spending target, as urged by US President-elect Donald Trump.
