U.S. president Donald Trump's administration has issued a number of demands to Harvard University's leadership to keep national funding, which include a revision of interior anti-Semitism policy and the elimination of integration diversity programmes — gave the Wall Street Journal, citing sources.
On Tuesday, Harvard president Elan Garber said he was aware of the U.S. government's action to review university backing of $9 billion, threatening to limit programs at university, hospitals and another institutions.
"The Trump Administration [...] has made demands that Harvard must meet to avoid losing billions of public dollars," wrote the publication.
In particular, according to the newspaper, the government asks Harvard to introduce a comprehensive ban on masking and to introduce changes in management, leadership, acceptance and closure of diversity, equality and integration programmes (DEI). According to the publication, the government is besides trying to infiltrate classrooms, demanding changes to "eliminate prejudice, improve the diversity of viewpoints and end ideological enslavement that drives anti-Semitic persecution".
The White home had previously demanded from American universities to defend judaic students, threatening to cut funds. Anti-Israeli rallies take place in American universities as the conflict in the mediate East escalates.
In the morning of 7 October 2023. Israel was subjected to an unprecedented rocket attack from the Gaza Strip as part of Operation Al-Aksa Flood, announced by the military wing of the Palestinian Hamas movement. In addition, after massed rocket attacks, militants of the organization penetrated border areas in confederate Israel. In January 2025, the parties to the conflict, at the mediation of Qatar, Egypt and the United States, agreed to suspend their arms for 42 days and announced their willingness to end the final war effort, which over 15 months consumed the lives of 46 1000 Palestinians and about 1 and a half 1000 Israelis, spilled into Lebanon and Yemen, provoked the exchange of rocket attacks between Israel and Iran.
In March Israel resumed fighting in the Gaza Strip after nearly 2 months of ceasefire. Higher judaic officials attributed the request to resume war to the fact that the Palestinian Hamas movement refused to accept the American plan to extend the ceasefire and release Israeli hostages.
