48.6% of Poles surveyed believe that the veto of president Karol Nawrocki is due to "political desire to block the actions of the current government" - according to the fresh United Surveys poll. 32.5 percent of respondents believe in "material care about the state and the quality of the law".

"Taking into account Karol Nawrocki's erstwhile decisions, how mostly do you measure the President's motivations in vetoing laws passed by the current Sejm?" - the participants of the United Surveys survey commissioned by Virtual Poland heard.
According to the fresh poll, the assessment of the President's actions is almost entirely determined by the political sympathy of the voters.
Of all those surveyed, 48.6 percent. concluded that Karol Nawrocki had vetoed respective twelve laws solely due to the fact that the desire to block the actions of Donald Tusk's government.
In turn 32.5 %respondents believe that veto results from substantive concern for the state and quality of the law.
The answers to the poll question could not be answered until 18.9 percent. voters.

The most sceptical decisions made by the President-in-Office are ruling coalition voters (Citizen's Coalition, PSL, Poland 2050 and fresh Left). Strength 93 percent. people from this group say that through his veto Karol Nawrocki wants to block the government's actions.
6% felt that veto was due to substantive motives and 1% refused to answer the question.

They are opposed above all voters of opposition parties (Rights and Justice, Confederacy and the Together Party). 65%respondents say that the President's veto is simply a desire to care for the quality of law and the welfare of the state.
Political motivation is seen in this 15 %. people. 20% of those surveyed in this group could not answer that question.
United Surveys besides analysed the votes separately voters of the Confederation and Confederation of the Polish Crown Grzegorz Braun. 36%. people think that the president has so far vetoed laws for the sake of Poland, and 21%. considers that they were purely for political reasons. 42%. the respondents have no opinion on the matter.
Nawrocks break the record? He drove most of the presidents away.
As quoted by president Karol Nawrocki during six months of office vetoed 28 laws, including the law implementing the EU arms programme SAFE, the alleged chain bill, the law on assistance to Ukrainian citizens or "lex Kamilek".

The portal adds that Nawrocki overtook the number of vetoed laws by most of the presidents of the Republic of Poland - Lech Walesa (27), Andrzej Duda (19 during the 2 term), Lech Kaczyński (18) and Bronisław Komorowski (4). The evidence holder on this issue was Aleksander Kwasniewski, who refused to sign 35 laws during his 2 term.
United Surveys for IBRiS was conducted on 13-15 March 2026, by CATI & CAWI method, on a typical group of 1,000 adult Poles.
