Iga Christmas won the WTA 1000 tournament in Cincinnati for the first time in her career. In the final, she defeated Italian tennis player Jasmine Paolini 7:5, 6:4.
The Cincinnati final was the sixth duel in the career of both players, and Christmas remained undefeated. The match lasted 1 hr and 50 minutes. Raszynianka initially lost 0:3, but then reversed the score, winning 5 gems in a row. Paolini leveled it at 5:5, but Polka broke it for the 3rd time and finished the first batch.
In the second installment of Christmas she started with a break, but Paolini rapidly led to a draw. Polka again broke the rival, maintained the service and won the match, utilizing the first match ball.

Winning in Cincinnati is the 24th title in the career of Polish tennis player. Thanks to the win, she was ranked second in the planet WTA ranking, ahead of Coco Gauff.
