Top 10 Best Leisure Airlines in the World in 2025, No.8 Will Surprise You!!

dailyblitz.de 9 hours ago

Skytrax has published its list of the world’s best leisure airlines for 2025. The key metrics for the winners were the passenger satisfaction with the on-board products and staff service standards from the ground to the skies.

For this category of awards, only those carriers operating on charter or flights mainly to holiday destinations were nominated.

Canada’s Air Transat is the winner of Skytrax’s Best Leisure Airline award for 2025, claiming its third successive number one spot.

The rest of the list is dominated by European carriers, with only two Asian airlines making the cut – indicating that the nominees were very carefully picked with a thorough focus on the demography of their destination and passenger profiles.

Here is who exactly made the top 10 best leisure airlines in the world in 2025.

1. Air Transat (TS/TSC)

Air Transat is the winner of this category for the seventh time in its history and the third consecutive year in a row, reaffirming its commitment to providing a fantastic leisure experience.

The airline has focused heavily on a leisure-centric model since day one, including flexible vacation offerings, family-friendly policies, and comfortable cabin layouts, which appealed to the right target market.

Passengers consistently praised the airline’s cheerful onboard atmosphere and attentive cabin crew. Air Transat’s commitment to creating a pleasant and stress-free travel experience, with staff who go above and beyond for leisure travellers, stood out.

2. TUI Airways (BY/TOM)

TUI Airways, which ranks second behind Air Transat, is the top-ranked airline from Europe and the only player from the United Kingdom to feature in this list.

TUI earned plaudits for its holiday-focused service, with comfortable seating across its Boeing 737 and 787 fleets, reliable cabin cleanliness, and friendly onboard staff, as well as convenient connections to in-demand vacation destinations around the world.

Its long-haul premium class offers extra comfort and upgraded meals, while short-haul flights offer dependable service with optional extras, thus managing to cater to travellers with different budgets. TUI’s close integration with its tour operator network ensures a seamless travel experience from booking to return, with several all-inclusive packages too.

3. SunExpress (XQ/SXS)

SunExpress ranks third in Skytrax’s list of best leisure airlines in the world. The joint venture between Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines perfectly balances meticulous service with a stress-free travel experience for its leisure flyers.

SunExpress was rewarded for its reliability, friendly cabin crew, and wide choice of seasonal routes, especially popular with travellers heading to regional Turkish locations. While the airline offers a no-frills service model with buy-on-board catering, its efficient operations and customer-focused approach stood out.

Where SunExpress fell short was its lack of a premium offering to clients who were willing to spend for convenience as well as luxury. They also don’t have robust tie-ups offering as attractive holiday packages as the likes of Air Transat and TUI.

4. Sunwing Airlines (WG/SWG)

Sunwing Airlines bags fourth spot and is the second carrier based in Canada to make the list. It is now owned by WestJet, having been acquired in 2023, and is a popular choice for travellers looking for package holidays in North America itself.

Sunwing operates a fleet of Boeing 737s serving leisure destinations across the Caribbean, Mexico, Central America, and the U.S. Passengers were impressed with Sunwing for its good value, friendly staff, and integration with vacation packages, especially offering great value for Canadian travellers during the winter season.

The airline offers perks like free checked baggage, but features a buy-on-board food service and relatively tight seat pitch coupled with an ill-maintained cabin, which some customers noted as drawbacks.

5. Edelweiss Air (WK/EDW)

Edelweiss is another airline that Lufthansa Group has a stake in to make the top 10 list of the world’s best leisure airlines for 2025. It is based out of Zurich, Switzerland, offering connectivity to various tourist destinations in Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

Flyers appreciate its blend of comfort and quality, including complimentary meals on short-haul routes, an uncommon attribute in Europe, and full-service long-haul offerings like in-flight entertainment, clean cabins, and a friendly, attentive cabin crew.

Edelweiss also operates a modern fleet of Airbus A320s, A340s, and A350s, providing a relaxed and safe travel experience. Though occasional limitations in seating comfort and booking flexibility have been criticised, the airline’s consistent service, network, and Swiss reliability make it a popular choice among leisure travellers.

6. Condor (DE/CFG)

Condor is one of the largest airlines in the world by fleet size and destinations served. With numerous operating bases in Germany, they offer efficient direct connectivity to some of the in-demand travel destinations in Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America.

They have recently modernised their fleet with new Airbus A321neo and A330-900neo aircraft, offering improved hard products and the latest in-flight amenities. Passengers commend its full-service model, which includes complimentary meals even in economy, reliable long-haul service, and a well-regarded business class.

Condor’s staff are often credited for their professionalism and warmth. With quality and affordability as its core values, Condor continues to appeal to holidaymakers from Germany.

7. TUIfly (X3/TUI)

TUIfly is the second airline owned by the TUI Group to rank in the top 10 of the world’s best leisure airlines. It is based in Germany and operates a similar model to its UK counterpart.

Passengers value the airline’s reliable service, friendly cabin crew, and focus on affordable, seasonal travel to destinations like the Canary Islands, the Mediterranean, and Cape Verde. While the airline operates a relatively small fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft, it offers a comfortable and straightforward flying experience for leisure travellers.

Onboard, complimentary snacks are available on some flights, though food and drinks are often buy-on-board. Seat space is modest, but the airline remains popular with travellers eyeing value-for-money flights. The airline’s small size and no premium offerings cause it to lag behind Condor and Edelweiss.

8. Vietravel Airlines (VU/VAG)

Vietravel Airlines is a lesser-known airline and was founded just six years ago. It commenced operations in 2021 and currently has only two Airbus A321s in its fleet.

Vietravel connects popular destinations across Vietnam and nearby countries with a focus on comfort and convenience at a cheap price. Travellers enjoy inclusive perks like in-flight entertainment, Wi-Fi, snacks, and drinks, making the experience feel premium despite its budget-friendly model.

The airline’s friendly crew and attention to cultural detail have earned it growing praise and several regional awards. With a small size and a tightly-knit group of staff, they can offer personalised and more welcoming service too.

9. Corsair International (SS/CRL)

Corsair International is one of the world’s oldest leisure airlines that is still operational. Owned by a Caribbean consortium, it has a small fleet with a narrow network, too.

Corsair specialises in long-haul holiday routes, connecting travellers to popular destinations in the French Caribbean, Africa, and North America. The airline recently modernised its fleet with new Airbus A330neo aircraft, offering quieter cabins, in-flight Wi-Fi, upgraded entertainment, and a more comfortable, enjoyable onboard experience.

Passengers also praised Corsair’s improved catering, which features French wines and thoughtfully prepared meals. Their ground service has also drawn appreciation, thus making the overall experience very relaxing at a very affordable price.

10. Capital Airlines (JD/CBJ)

Capital Airlines is a Chinese leisure carrier based in Beijing, providing locals with seamless connections to Asian tourist hotspots at nominal prices.

Onboard, travellers enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks, a calm cabin environment, and consistently clean aircraft. While in-flight entertainment and seat comfort are fairly basic, the overall experience is relaxed and reliable.

Capital Airlines may not offer luxury, but it delivers exactly what leisure travellers value most: dependable service, courteous staff, and a smooth journey at a competitive price.
