Today is the anniversary of the death of Sergeant Matthew Sitka

Friday 6 June is the first anniversary of Matthew Sitka’s death. Sergeant 1st Warsaw Armored Brigade served on the Polish-Belarusian border.
Sergeant. Gritek is the victim of an attack by 1 of the migrants who tried to breach the border barrier.

May 28, 2024, Sergeant. Sitek served in the area of Dubicz Cerkiewne in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. A group of migrants tried to breach the barrier at the border with Poland – it was then that the sergeant was stabbed by 1 of the men who utilized the breach in the steel dam. Officers were besides thrown with branches and stones.

Although a wounded soldier was transported to the infirmary in Hajnówka and then to Warsaw, his life was not saved. The sieve died June 6. He was posthumously promoted and awarded the “Golden Medal of Merit for the defence of the Country”.

Sgt. Killer. Sitka hasn't been found yet.
