It is estimated at 15 billion tons and could satisfy Poland's energy needs for centuries, but will not be used. The Ministry of Climate and Environment does not plan to operate 1 of the largest lignite deposits in Europe extending between Legnica and Głogów. This information was confirmed by the country's chief geologist, Krzysztof Galos, who besides holds the position of vice-chief of the climate resort.
