These are people who very frequently don't have any documents, they don't have any identities, they don't want to go back, so they won't admit to where they came from. The countries they come from most frequently do not want to take them back either. This is getting into a bureaucratic nightmare, immense cost of surviving these people, sometimes for years. If we are to have safe borders, if we are to take our right to decide seriously who comes to our home, we must be able to halt immigrants at the border!
