Referring to the planned changes in the teaching of religion in schools, Priest Cardinal said: “In any average country that respects constitutional institutions, after specified a ruling as the Constitutional Court issued, the case would cease to exist. As in Poland, we do not know this due to the fact that respecting the ultimate Court and the Constitutional Court is what it is. Therefore, there may be confusion around the issue of catechesis". It's an accurate diagnosis, and it's hard to disagree with. That would be actual in any average country.
The following words sounded even more dramatic erstwhile Fr Cardinal said: “Various political options ruled the country, including the SLD, it was always fruitful to talk to government representatives. However, they are now unilateral. Therefore, I appeal to the Cardinal, being faithful to this word, to announce in the Archdiocese of Warsaw, and possibly together with the Episcopate, a nationwide day of prayer in the intention of releasing priest Michał Olszewski and 2 officials of the Ministry of Justice. It may be a prayer day of focus on 1 of the central squares of Warsaw and vigils of the faithful in all parishes. The church has no division, but it has the weapons of prayer. And prayer is never one-sided, the sincere prayer of the faithful will surely be answered. In particular, prayer for those who served those affected by force was brutal.

Your Eminence, Venerable Priest Cardinal, the Church in Poland cannot let him to be thrown out of what Christ called him to do. Priest Cardinal, announce a nationwide day of prayer in the intention of releasing priest Michał Olszewski and 2 officials of the Ministry of Justice. Priest Cardinal, let us not let ourselves be told that this is unnecessary.
