Time for a large line

Do you inactive remember the “fat line” of Tadeusz Mazowiecki? In fact, the Prime Minister said at the time, "The past is being struck off by a thick line." In Mazowiecki's view, this meant that the government would be cut off from the erstwhile political system. In the opinion of his opponents, it meant precisely the opposite. They interpreted the "large line" as a symbol of resentment towards historical settlements, mirrors and decommunisation and acceptance for the functioning of post-communist communities in Polish politics and the economy.

From the position of 3 decades, erstwhile it is apparent to almost everyone that, contrary to the voyages of solidarity, there has been no "failure of the commune" but only a fresh protector of systemic transformation controlled by the services, we can look at the "fat line" from another perspective. As an effort to close a chapter and arrange a fresh reality.

There are moments erstwhile it is worth looking back and acknowledging that what remains behind us does not find our further choices. specified a minute was the turn of 1918 and 1919. At that time, our great-grandfathers did not deficiency the wisdom essential to bind the land to the 3 partitions of the fresh state. Countries whose citizens had been loyal to Austria, Germany and Russia for a fewer months before. They included shopkeepers and craftsmen, but besides officials and policemen. They had to put the past aside to build the future. And they did that task, at least as far as they could.

All this extended historical introduction was placed here for a reason. It is the current geopolitical location of Poland, which, as many indicate, directs us to the inevitable war. A series of unforced errors from the Polish side led our country to depreciate its global position. We are now a quasi-self-employed entity, vacated against the US and implementing its policies. Unfortunately, this means the function of a possible bumper in the escalation of conflict between the Western and east worlds.

A large part of our countrymen are unaware of the possible implications of Poland's integration into the war. In the optimistic variant, this involves tens of thousands of fallen and economical ruin. I am writing about the “optimistic option” and I am full aware that these thousands of dead will not just be digits in the lists. These will be your fathers, brothers, sons. And besides daughters, due to the fact that the military is now recently feminized. And erstwhile I compose about economical ruin, I do not mean recession or crisis, I mean unemployment, poorness and hunger. And that's inactive an optimistic option.

In a pessimistic variant, erstwhile the war moves to our territory, the victims of tens of thousands can go into millions. So we're talking about a real threat to the biological existence of the nation. The hazard of Poland losing territorial integrity is besides real. As our hard past has taught us, it is simply a misfortune far greater than the failure of independency itself. The position is so very bad.

Is there anything we can do? I'm afraid not. Fortunately, not yet definitely “no”. What remains is to effort to usage this minimum chance to prevent war. So for today, we combine and multiply forces. Carry out information work and organize people. Put force on the government. For only Poles in their mass can postpone the waiting defeat.

Therefore, present the only real line of division is this demarcation camp of war from the camp of peace. It's not gonna be an equal fight. We, in the peace camp, have a fistful of them. “They” – a camp of war – is almost the full political and media mainstream. They have financial, mass media, the full apparatus of the state and its services. They usage these tools effectively and absolutely. “We” – a camp of peace – are a fistful of independent intellectuals and publicists. respective perfect environments, diametrically different. A twelve tiny media centers. And a fewer dozen, possibly a fewer 100 informal groups. Nothing but nothing. A colourful but tiny group, almost without instruments and means of action. Our chances are slim. But until they're none, we can't give up.

As if there were small “power” on our side before we left the niches to which our opponent pushed us well, the first cracks began. It is right that we remember what views those who are standing with us present preached a fewer years ago. It is right that we do not forget their political past or their connection to the apparatus of the state. It is right that we note any concessions or subsidies that we have obtained from today’s opponents. You gotta remember that. But if we want to keep even a shadow of a chance to win we gotta put these doubts, dislikes and animosities aside ad act. Apply our small “fat line”.

To act for a common cause, we don't gotta make love or even like each other. We don't gotta trust each another besides much. We do not even gotta share any views but that we are against Poland's engagement in this war. That's enough. If, in spite of the tremendous danger, despite the apparent common goal, we cannot go together, let us go separately. But let's not disturb each other. If individual doesn't understand, they're working for their opponent.

Especially since there are no business people on our side anymore. And if any of them have escaped, it is as bad as possible about their political instinct. For from an individual point of view, small can be gained from us. Even if we succeed, we will keep our country from pushing it into war, Poland will inactive be an independent state. The witch hunt, which has been effective for a year, will not end. On the contrary. We'll be dulled and persecuted with even more ruthlessness. The full state's camera will be utilized against us. That's the price to pay. This is what the Polish work costs today.

Not everyone's ready to pay the price. Many of those who, until recently, shout the loudest are silent today. And there are those who went consecutive to the enemy camp. any of them from opportunism, any from fear...

But we are. We are now at a turning point. If we turn back, we lose. Poland can lose with us. possibly our weak voice will be the 1 who will prevail. possibly he'll aid avoid the black screenplay.
