This is the beginning of a fresh era for the United States and Europe. 5 conclusions from the Munich conference. “Germany must follow the example of Poland”

Germany is no longer a reliable partner for the United States. After just over 3 years Government of Chancellor Olaf Scholz's coalition the economy is stagnant and Berlin is far from having an adequate defence budget.

As a consequence The Trump government no longer wants to talk to the incumbent Chancellor And he tries to dictate with whom the future government is to form a coalition.

2. Europe lacks a leader

For Trump Europe is simply a patchwork block which is kept in check by Brussels. Vice president of the United States J. D. Vance identified the European leadership problem as "greater threat" to safety than Russia's army.

This is an assessment that most European governments disagree with. However, this shows how disorganized and chaotic the United States is today.

3. Nobody knows what Trump truly wants.

On February 24, Russia's war against Ukraine will enter the 4th year. Kiev can defend itself against Putin's aggression, among others, due to the fact that the United States has supplied him with almost a 3rd of the weapons and ammunition needed.

The leaders who met in Munich hoped Trump and his envoys would present their long announced ‘peace plan’. Conclusion: The president of the United States has no peace plan for Ukraine.

Instead, we can only presume that the US will retreat from Ukraine, possibly even from NATO neighbouring countries, as stated by Vice president Vance and Secretary of Defense. Pete Hegseth. What Trump wants to accomplish with respect to Russia, Ukraine and the war in Europe remains unclear.

4 We gotta arm ourselves.

After the Munich safety Conference it is clear that The U.S. is no longer a power that has a protective umbrella over the EU.. If Germany and another European countries do not invest in defence and show that they take their own safety and commitments seriously in the EU and NATO, this will be seen even more quickly.

If Russia is to be effectively deterred, Germany must follow the example Poland and invest in defence — at least twice as much as today. Whether Trump drastically reduces the presence of American forces in Europe or his successor.

5. Europe and the US no longer talk the same language

When Vice president J.D. Vance speaks of “security”, “free speech” and “democratic values”, he means something another than politicians from the German government and average opposition.

This has to change. If Germany wants to engage again in dialog with the US, the government must at least effort to put themselves in their position.
