President Trump's administration is considering a task to offer each Greenland citizen a check for $10,000 a year as part of a plan to take control of this Danish island, to which it attaches large strategical importance - wrote the paper "The fresh York Times" on Friday.
Republican officials believe the cost of this operation may be financed by proceeds from the extraction of natural resources present in this territory, including uncommon earth metals, copper, gold, uranium and crude oil.

By 1953, it was a Danish colony and since then changed its position to Danish autonomous territory. It has 56,000 inhabitants concentrated on 20 percent of territory not covered by ice and snow.
"We request Greenland for national and global safety reasons" - said U.S. Vice president J.D. Vance, who visited there in March. "We work with everyone to accomplish this," Trump said speaking in Congress.
Greenland authorities replied that "the island is not for sale, nor does it want to belong to the United States".
