Oleksandr Krajew, Ukrainian American and abroad Policy Council expert Ukrainian Prism in an interview with the Gazeta.pl portal says that Donald Trump did not take seriously the cessation of military aid for Ukraine, and it was only his "magazine of diplomacy" which would force Ukraine to make concessions. “ It must be understood that Trump is simply a very unpredictable and chaotic leader,” he explains.
He notes that the format of talks has changed and the Americans together with Ukraine "created a common imagination of the end of the war and will now convince the Russians to agree with it". However, he is convinced that "this truce will not happen quickly". In his opinion, the Russians will now do anything to make the United States' approach to Ukraine worse. He adds that "Trump has peculiar relations with Putin" and mostly "a peculiar approach" to dictators. “ Therefore, there is simply a hazard that Trump’s administration, as well as Trump himself, can change their minds,” he says.
