They didn't catch on to SAFE. ASAR helicopters needed ASAP

Military search and rescue helicopters could have been purchased from SAFE funds, but it turned out that the position of the Air Force was not strong enough. precedence is given – possibly rightly – to school machines along with a fresh training system. However, this does not change the fact that fresh machines for ASAR (Aeronautical Search and Rescue) are very much needed. Not only to rescue pilots of modern F-35 and AH-64E, but besides to support the civilian strategy on a regular basis, e.g. during natural disasters, search and rescue operations over water and land, or even transport the sick to appropriate hospitals, as well as to support the Air Ambulance and another services.
