More than 300 Polish citizens will be evacuated from Israel by Jordan to Poland - said Minister of abroad Affairs Radosław Sikorski on Monday. Evacuation - as the MFA had already handed over on Monday - is due to end by Thursday.
Sikorski on Monday at TVN 24 was asked about the evacuation of Polish citizens from Israel, who after Friday began attacking military targets in Iran is besides under fire by Iranian missiles.
The head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs stated that the number of Polish citizens to be evacuated from the territory of Israel increased in relation to the 1 that has been passed on in the media so far. "Today it is over 300 people" - specified Sikorski.
Minister recalled that Poland is the first major EU country to decide to evacuate its citizens and the defence department is besides active in the process itself.
"(...) remember that Poland is the first major European Union country to decide to evacuate yesterday. Only a fewer minutes before Germany decided to do so. This morning I had an ambassador from Germany, and he said it wasn't there yet. The United States does not, France does not, Britain does not" - he said on Monday night.
Sikorski said that despite the warnings of the Ministry of abroad Affairs, the number of Poles who went to Israel increased. "There were sixty people 48 hours ago, present it is over 3 hundred" - he said. "It's not precisely responsible. We beg you, don't go anywhere, people are going anyway. It is as TOPR says: don't go to the mountains, due to the fact that it threatens an avalanche - it doesn't go" - Sikorski said.

On Monday morning, the head of the MON Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz asked about the evacuation of Polish citizens from Israel, said that the decision on which the Polish Army is to be ready to evacuate Poles from Israel was already made on Friday morning. On the same day, deputy chief of the Ministry of abroad Affairs Henryk Mościcka-Dendys said that evacuation of Poles will only concern the territory of Israel, not the full region.
She said evacuation is to be possible within a fewer twelve hours and will end by Thursday.
